Scout Group Trustee

Group of adults in a meeting

As a Trustee, you’ll be part of a team of trustees working together to keep everything the Scouts do safe and the Scout Group thriving.

From managing money to making sure meeting places are in tip-top condition, you’ll be part of a team that makes sure everything is set up properly so that young people have the best experience in Scouts.

As a team, you’ll make sure everything’s being done safely and legally, as well as connecting Scouts with your local community. You’ll collaborate, lead, and make a real difference, all while learning new skills and growing in a flexible, supportive environment.

You'll meet as a Trustee Board a handful of times a year, outside of that it's up to you. Whether you take tasks away from the meetings or simply provide insights while you're there, you'll be a valuable member of the team.

Oh, and it’s fine if you’ve not been a Trustee before. We’ll support you, making sure you learn everything you need to know, as you go, in this flexible role.

Mission Statement

Our goal is to prepare young people in Godalming with skills for life. We encourage young people to do more, learn more and be more. We given them a place to belong.

At Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, and Explorers, young people make new friends, have amazing adventures, and learn new skills.

Every week we give 4-18 year olds the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life.

Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. Regardless of your child’s physical ability – there’s a Scout adventure out there waiting for them. And we’ll help them find it and given them a place to belong.
