Be the difference in a child’s life – become an Independent Visitor volunteer befriender
Could you spare one day a month to bring fun, connection, and consistency to a child or young person in care?
Surrey Independent Visitor Service is looking for compassionate, committed adult volunteers (aged 21+) to become Independent Visitors - trusted befrienders to children in care across Surrey and beyond.
What’s in it for you

- Fulfilment: Experience the satisfaction of making a real difference
- Growth: Receive full training and ongoing support from our dedicated team

What you’ll give
- Time: One visit per month, usually at weekends
- Commitment: A two-year commitment to build trust and consistency
- Motivation: Your energy and empathy to support a young person
- Engagement: Participation in training and support groups
- Responsibility: Willingness to complete safeguarding checks, including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) background check and references
