Hydon Hill is a home (with nursing care), providing a range of services for adults with physical disabilities.
Volunteers desperately needed to go out with residents on trips. We have weekly trips throughout the summer to go to public places of interest. Our residents are aged 18 up to 85 giving a wide variety of trips they choose to go on. We need escorts to go with residents and be their hands. All of our residents have great mental capacity and most of them are fully vocal, volunteers would be placed with resident's that could tell them how to best support residents.
All of the public places our residents like to go let carers in for free, meaning the only cost is transport to Hydon Hill. Trips usually start at about 10 a.m. and can last anything up to 6 p.m.
Volunteers can also pick from the list of trips they would like to do, and go with the resident they choose.
Training: Our Volunteer Co-ordinator works 5 days a week to support and induct volunteers and give relevant training to role.
Support: Trips always have care staff and drivers that are fully trained in care, so volunteers wouldn't have to learn anything clinic, but would just enjoy a nice day out with a part volunteer/part staff team.
Recruitment: Informal interviews. DBS check and two references required for role, also SOVA training as our resident's are vulnerable adults
Expenses: Relevant expenses paid
Directions: Hydon Hill is based in Godalming.
