Hart Voluntary Action (Fleet)

Youth Counsellor - Level 4 (Fleet/Odiham area)

121 Youth Counselling is a small project run by Hart Voluntary Action offering counselling to 11-25 year olds living in Hart District (North East Hampshire).

We are looking for integrative and person-centred counsellors who are qualified to Level 4 Diploma or above, who can provide counselling for 11-16 year olds.

We are BACP members and our volunteers would need to adhere to the BACP code of ethics.  We have a 3-month waiting list for 11-16 year olds who urgently need counselling.

As Hart District is a rural area, we operate from different sites - currently these are Fleet, Odiham, Hartley Wintney and Yateley.  Counselling sessions are run after school, usually between 3.00 and 5.30pm.

We always have a counsellor support volunteer on site to welcome clients to the venue and to stay on site during counselling sessions.  Access to your own transport is essential.

What we offer in return:  2-4 clients per week; you decide.  Each counselling session consists of 50 minutes counselling and 10 minutes to write up notes.  Monthly group supervision with a very experienced counsellor.  A contribution towards travel/mileage expenses.  An opportunity to make a real difference to a young person's life.

All volunteers will undergo a DBS check.
