Volunteer Engagement Services Team

POSITION OVERVIEW
The purpose of this role is to help by acting as the first point of contact for all volunteer enquiries for the Vancouver Island Region. The VEST will increase the Society’s current volunteer capacity and enhance the volunteer experience, allowing us to better deliver programs and services and to fund research contributing to the fight against cancer.

The VEST will provide HR and administrative support to Volunteer Engagement Coordinators and other Functional Areas as necessary. They will carry out basic volunteer screening activities as well as matching volunteers to current opportunities based on their skills and interests. Responsibilities also include answering emails, telephone, and face to face volunteer enquiries on top of posting volunteer positions descriptions via the Online Volunteer Centre and any other online postings.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in office administration, recruitment and selection;
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office;
  • Highly organized, detail oriented and able to multi-task;
  • Able to work independently and with a team;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
  • Experience engaging and working with diverse groups of people;

COMMITMENT
2- 4 hours/week for 3-6 months
