Chat and Connect Program: Brighten Lives, Warm Hearts!

Are you a social person with a passion for supporting our local community? If you love connecting with others and have a special place in your heart for older people, we have the perfect volunteer opportunity for you!

What's it all about?

The Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme Program is a Government Funded Program that supports older people living in the community who may be socially isolated.   Our Chat and Connect program matches a volunteer with an older person with the aim to create a meaningful connection and combat social isolation.

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking compassionate and kind hearted volunteers that possess a natural gift for engaging conversations. The volunteer must have a genuine empathy for others, enjoy building meaningful connections and have the ability to actively listen.

Requirements

All volunteers require a National Police Certificate for the purposes of Aged Care. Mount Barker District Council have a process to support volunteers to obtain this at no cost to the individual.
