Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Greet and warmly welcome attendees at library; distribute program information; orient patrons to the library or event site by pointing out locations of restrooms, water fountain, handout table, etc.; be available to answer questions and direct patrons as needed. Organize or create displays that promote reading, library activities and the community. Maintain bulletin boards up to date.
Skills and Experience:
All that is required is a warm, outgoing personality, ability to anticipate and react to needs of patrons and staff, and a desire to make people comfortable in the library. Events typically take place on weekday evenings and some weekend events.
Professional and polite with the public in person. Experience in customer service is helpful but not required.
Minimum commitment of one 2-4 hour shifts per week, for a period of 6 months.
