Kitchen Volunteer

Apply to volunteer today and join our friendly team in our Catering Department at our Demelza Hospice in Sittingbourne. An enjoyment and knowledge of food would be absolutely invaluable; however training will be given to all volunteers to support and guide you each step of the way.

We are looking for help on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Mornings ideally.

Tasks could include helping to prepare snacks and lunches, making hot and cold drinks, washing up and tidying away.

What will you gain from volunteering

  • A chance to meet new people, make new friends and dedicate yourself to a rewarding role
  • The time to develop new skills, take on new challenges and enjoy new experiences
  • The opportunity to make an invaluable contribution to Demelza and support children with terminal conditions and their loved ones

Why volunteer for Demelza?

Demelza provides specialist care and emotional support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, completely free of charge to those who are in need throughout Kent, South East London and East Sussex. We help with every element of life for children with serious and terminal conditions. We get to know each and every child, young person and family we work with to ensure they receive a care plan as unique as they are.

Demelza could not achieve this high quality service without the volunteers who give their time, energy and dedication. Over 1,000 volunteers give their time across all areas of the charity and we would be incredibly grateful for you to join our team of volunteers. Together with your support, we will be there to bring joy, fun and relaxation to the lives of every child and family that needs our help.
