Community activation and social isolation initiative

Victorians experiencing loneliness or social disconnection due to coronavirus will receive support from the Australian Red Cross and local community organisations with one call to the coronavirus hotline, thanks to a new  Victorian Government initiative.

The COVID-19 community and activation and social isolation initiative is a program funded by the Victorian State Government. Uniting Wodonga, as the Community Connector Lead Organisation, for the Wodonga local government area (LGA), was established to build on existing local support networks that can map and wrap community support around the needs of people who access the Victorian COVID hotline.

Social Isolation volunteers are  expected at all times to be non-judgemental in their approach, treating each client with respect, compassion, dignity and a friendly manner.

It is expected that the Social Isolation Volunteers work from 9:00am to 5:00pm if required.
