Brunswick Sorting Assistant

Sorting Assistant - Behind the Scenes Treasure Hunter!

Join the Treasure Hunt – Become a Sorting Assistant Behind the Scenes! Love retail but prefer a quieter space away from the shop floor? Got an eye for hidden gems, quality fabrics, or quirky finds? Come and be part of something meaningful at our Brunswick Sorting Room – the beating heart behind our vibrant Op Shop on Victoria Street!

Just steps from Brunswick Station, our Sorting Room is where the magic begins. Every day, our dedicated team sorts through generous donations, helping us reuse, recycle, and reduce waste – one item at a time. From vintage coats to kitchen gadgets, you’ll help give pre-loved goods a second life in our Uniting stores or through sustainable recycling.

Why You’ll Love This Role:

• It’s hands-on and satisfying – keep your hands busy and your mind at ease

• You’ll be helping the planet and your local community

• Friendly team environment with plenty of support

• Ideal for those who enjoy low-sensory, independent work (and yes, you can pop your headphones in!)

No experience? No worries! We’ll show you the ropes – all you need is a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

• Shifts available Monday to Friday – mornings or afternoons

• Located at our Brunswick Sorting Room, right beside the Op Shop

Keen to get involved or want to take a look? Reach out to Alisha, our Sorting Room Manager, at alisha.sazdova@vt.uniting.org to arrange a friendly meet-and-greet.

Help us find the story in every item – and maybe discover a few treasures of your own along the way.
