The Settlement Hub

The Settlement Hub provides ongoing support for individuals and families who have been in Australia for less than five years by providing programs and services to help with settlement and gaining independence in their new community. It focuses on fostering social participation, economic and personal wellbeing and community connections.

The Settlement Hub is located at 138 – 140 Maude Street, Shepparton. Call (03) 5831 6157 for more information.

Humanitarian Settlement Program

Uniting delivers settlement services to individuals and families who have recently been granted entry to Australia on humanitarian grounds. A support program is provided on arrival and throughout the first settlement period.

The service operates in both our Settlement Hub in Shepparton, 138 - 140 Maude Street, Shepparton and from our Emergency Relief Program, 177 Beechworth Road, Wodonga.

Communities for Children Cultural Connections Plus Program

Uniting is one of seven partners delivering services to culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Shepparton.

The Communities for Children Cultural Connections Plus Program is funded by the Department of Social Services and managed by CatholicCare. The program aims to improve the health and wellbeing of families and the development of young children from birth through to 12 years of age. Uniting provides support to culturally and linguistically diverse families to navigate the transition from kindergarten to primary school. We assist families to understand their new culture with a Parenting in a New Culture Program.  We also provide support for families through a trauma informed playgroup focusing on improving relationships.

Reconnect – Newly Arrived Youth Support Service

Reconnect - Newly Arrived Youth Support (NAYS) service supports newly arrived young people aged 12 - 21 years who have been in Australia for five years or less, and are homeless or at risk of homelessness. Reconnect NAYS helps young people to find a more stable home and strengthen connections with family, work, education, training and their local community.  This program is funded by the Department of Social Services.
