Cat Carer- Mornings

Are you a cat lover looking for a chance to gain practical experience and skills? Blue Cross is looking for enthusiastic and caring people to help us look after our cats until they find loving new homes.


What you will be doing:

  • Helping with routine cleaning in the cattery including cleaning pens, litter trays and food bowls
  • Feeding and grooming cats
  • Socialising the cats, stroking, playing and getting them used to being handled
  • Monitoring the health, welfare and behaviour of cats
  • We expect all our centre volunteers to take an active role in raising awareness for the centre by attending occasional local events.

What we are looking for:

  • Regular commitment and reliability
  • Experience of owning or caring for cats and/or an interest in their welfare
  • Ability to work in a team or alone
  • Willingness to learn and follow Blue Cross procedures
  • A reasonable level of fitness to carry out an active role

Time commitment: 

Minimum commitment of 1 shift a week on a set day from 8.30 to 12.30 - Currently we cannot take any volunteers under the age of 18

Please note we only have vacancies Tuesday or Wednesday mornings (However the rota can change, so please still apply if you can offer a different day) 

You will be required to complete appropriate units of our Blue Cross Rehoming Training Programme
