Sick, injured and homeless pets have relied on Blue Cross for help since 1897. Each year, thousands of dogs, cats, small pets and horses turn to the charity’s animal hospitals, clinics and rehoming services for treatment and support.

 

 
 

 

   Do you have good horse handling skills and experience?

   Do you have excellent communication and administration

   skills? Are you keen to use your skills to help both people

   and animals? Our busy centre is looking for a reliable

   volunteer who can help our busy rehoming team.

 

 

 

We would love you to join us and help us help more pets in need

 

You’ll learn new skills and gain valuable experience

for your CV, while meeting new people and having fun!

 

Time commitment:  Flexible – hours to suit

 

Geographical area: to be based north of Rolleston Rehoming Centre DE13 9AU

 

 

The role of a Remote Rehoming Volunteer

 

Tasks include:

 

  • Supporting the Horse Rehoming Co-ordinator
  • Carrying out H2H appointments
  • Carrying out HD appointments and assessments
  • Going to homes to help with the handover of horses and ponies
  • Data entry onto a computerised system
  • Preparing rehoming packs

 

 

To be a Remote Rehoming Volunteer

You will need:

  • Good level of horse care and handling skills
  • Excellent customer service and admin skills
  • Good telephone manner and a confidential approach
  • Computer literate
  • Regular commitment and reliability
  • Ability to work in a team or alone
  • Willingness to learn and follow Blue Cross
  • Willing to undertake Blue Cross company vehicle training
