Gardener and Site Maintenance Volunteer

Are you a dab hand at DIY? Have you got green fingers? If so our busy centre is looking for a reliable and self motivated volunteer to help us maintain the site, keeping it clean, tidy, functional and well presented.

 

What you will be doing:

  • Maintenance including basic repairs and DIY tasks
  • Some painting and decorating
  • Grounds maintenance work
  • Weeding and tidying the grounds
  • Preparing the grounds for open days or other events
  • You will be responsible for identifying and completing the task required to maintain the site
  • Helping with any new projects such as a memorial garden and sensory garden for dogs

What we are looking for:

  • DIY experience and enjoyment of this type of work
  • Some gardening knowledge and skills
  • Having use of own tools and equipment an advantage
  • Regular commitment and reliability
  • Ability to work in a team or alone
  • Willingness to learn and follow Blue Cross procedures
  • Willingness to pitch in, help out and get your hands dirty
  • Like being outdoors in all weather
  • A good level of fitness
  • Minimum 18 years of age

Time commitment: Flexible, our preference is between 9am and 4pm weekdays or weekends on a regular basis (e.g. once a week)

This opportunity is available at Bromsgrove Rehoming Centre, Wildmoor Lane, Catshill, Bromsgrove, Worcs B61 0RJ.

You will be required to complete appropriate units of our Blue Cross Rehoming Training Programme.
