Mount Canobolas State Conservation
So you’re interested in volunteering on the highest peak in the central west. Mount Canobolas State Conservation Area also known as Gaanha-bula in Wiradjuri, is home to not only a diverse range of native plants and animals but also home to species found no where else on the planet! It’s alpine climate means that species have evolved here to be unique in genetics and appearance. Since 1997 the National Parks and Wildlife Service NSW has been working on managing this area to balance visitor experience with the protection of natural values, now you have the opportunity to be apart of our conservation efforts in weed management, surveys and litter collection in order to protect this special and sacred place.
