Habitat Restoration Volunteer
Volunteers will assist in the rehabilitation of 3 Bushcare sites in Centennial Parklands.
The aims is to deliver ecological improvements by enhancing the biodiversity, expand native habitat and raise the awareness of Aboriginal culture through improving the Guriwal trail, which is an Aboriginal bushtucker garden.
This will involve volunteers removing invasive plant species, occasional seed collection, replanting with local native plants, installing plant protectors and important follow up watering.
Days / time:
- every Wednesday from 9am -12 noon assist with rehabilitating the Aboriginal bushtucker garden and important small bird project.
- second & fourth Thursday of each Month from 9am to 12noon assist with working on a new rehabilitation project called ReLEAF Parklands.
NOTE: your welcome to work on both days or just one.
Volunteers require an adequate level of fitness and agility - bending, digging holes with a shovel, kneeling and sitting on the ground.
