Long-Term Volunteering at Prairie Paws
STOP!
Are you looking to volunteer at least 15 or more hours with Prairie Paws Animal Services?
If not, please visit the Short-Term Volunteering section in the previous page, for instructions on how to get started. You will need to submit your application through that section.
Caring for Grand Prairie's animal population is tremendously rewarding for people and pets, so we are happy you want to spend your time with us!
Volunteers support shelter staff in a number of capacities. Long-term opportunities may include: dog walking, socializing with individual animals, grooming, maintaining public areas, fostering animals at home, organizing supplies, greeting visitors and maintaining shelter records.
*The minimum volunteer age is 14.
- Volunteers who are 17 or younger should submit a hand-signed (not typed) Parent Consent Form in advance to expedite acceptance into the volunteer program. Email the signed form to volunteers@gptx.org.
