Hydrotherapy Volunteer
Hydrotherapy is exercise in a heated pool using buoyancy and floatation to assist movement. It uses the properties of water to stretch and strengthen muscles, improve joint movement, body coordination and walking. It is performed in a comfortable environment that promotes the additional benefits of relaxation and socialization. The classes are available for anyone seeking pain relief, improved mobility and strength as well as general fitness and relaxation.
The hydrotherapy program is delivered at The Danny Frawley Centre Hydro Pool in Moorabbin.
As a hydrotherapy volunteer you volunteer alongside a group of volunteers and are guided by a Physiotherapist or Allied Health Assistant.
The program takes place on Wednesday and Friday mornings. A typical shift is 3 hours and we ask for at least a 6 month commitment to volunteer.
