What we need you to do

We are looking for volunteers to provide support to children and young people through Action for Children’s Kernow Connect service. Volunteers will support us to deliver fun and educational activities to enable young people to develop great life skills, to have social opportunities, to make new friends and to have new experiences that challenge their thinking. We are looking for volunteers to support with the delivery of our evening youth groups across the county of Cornwall.

 

Your role will include but is not limited to;

  • Supporting place based youth clubs and groups for young people aged 11-19 and up to 25 with a Special educational need or disability.
  • Signposting young people to appropriate members of staff for support and advice to help us keep young people safe from harm.
  • Helping to set up and clear away group activities before and after sessions.
  • Occasional opportunities to support young people on outdoor activities.

 

 

 

What Skills and experience do you need?

  • Be friendly and have a good sense of humour
  • Have a non-judgemental attitude
  • Be Reliable
  • Be confident
  • Happy to communicate with Young People.
  • Level 2 safeguarding qualification (we will provide this if you do not have this)

What we ask of you:

  • To provide two references from non-family members and other relevant documents related to the role.
  • To keep to all the charity’s values, policies and guidelines.
  • To complete an induction and any training relating to the role.
