Action for Children does what’s right, does what’s needed and does what works.

Our Vision

We help children and young people aged 5 to 18 who are caring for someone else in their family.

The person a young carer looks after may have an illness, disability, or mental health or substance misuse problem. Some young carers may be the only person providing care, while others may take on responsibilities alongside other family members.

Young carer's lives are restricted because of this need to take responsibility for someone in the family.

We try to make life easier by offering practical and emotional support for the young carer and family so they can enjoy some time of their own and achieve what they want.

We aim to work in different ways to make life better for young carers to feel good about themselves and their future.
