Fringe Festival Kitchen Team


Do you love food and the satisfaction that comes with seeing smiling well-fed faces?

Come join the Volunteer Kitchen Team and help us fight the hangry-ness. We are looking for positive, hard-working volunteers to keep our corps of 1200 hungry volunteers fueled up for their jobs.

Working under our wonderful Food Program Coordinator Teresa, kitchen volunteers will prepare, serve and deliver quick healthy meals and snacks for the 400 volunteers we see on site each day.



  • Prepare light meals and snacks for our army of hungry volunteers
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Ensure the food preparation area is kept clean
  • Volunteers may be asked to assist with setting up of the kitchen prior to Festival, and with the take-down afterwards
  • Keep the volunteer patio area clean and well-stocked
  • Prepare coffee and beverages for early-morning volunteers


  • Serve meals to volunteers during meal times (salads, main course, dessert/fruit)
  • Assist with preparation of serving area before and after meal times.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times
  • Ensure the food serving area is kept clean
  • Assist with redeeming meal tickets during meal times

Cook/Server volunteers will be allocated as cooks/servers as required


  • Able to take direction and work in a busy environment
  • Knowledge of safe-food handling practices
  • Kitchen experience and/or formal food handling training is an asset
  • Be able to stand for long periods of time and work in a warm environment
  • Age 16+

*Hours for this team generally run from 9am to 10pm*
