Become a Transport Driver and/or Assisted Shopping Volunteer Today!
The Campbelltown City Council's Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) is seeking transport drivers and assisted shopping volunteers to safely drive older community members to appointments and take them shopping locally.
CHSP is funded by the Australian Government Department of Health and provides a range of low-level services for older people.
As a volunteer you will transport clients with limited transport options to various appointments, and/or help with assisted shopping, which includes providing local transport and assistance for grocery or personal shopping, and shopping from a list.
By volunteering as Transport Driver and/or Assisted Shopping Volunteer, you will be contributing to a highly valued service for our community.
Some requirements of this volunteer position include:
- Current Australian driver’s licence
- Use of own vehicle preferred (vehicle mileage is reimbursed)
- Good driving history
- Comprehensive Motor Insurance
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Empathy and sensitivity to the needs of others
- Reliable and punctual
- Attend mandatory training as required
