Spaying and neutering has had a significant impact on reducing the numbers of dogs coming into the care of the BC SPCA. We are now seeing dogs with behaviour concerns that sometimes require intensive training prior to adoption. As a dog socializer, you will work with a team of staff and volunteers to provide consistency, behaviour remediation, socialization, and daily exercise for the dogs in residence. A willingness to participate in initial and ongoing training is a requirement. Volunteers are expected to adhere to individual program plans in place for each dog. The physical ability to handle large, strong dogs is an important attribute for volunteers.
Our motto is to help the dogs remain and/or become more adoptable!
