Environment Event Volunteer Roles
Location: Locations are varied and can be anywhere across Ipswich
Join us as an Environment Event volunteer to help support a range of events and educational activities for all ages that aim to highlight our conservation and sustainability efforts across the city, including community education, citizen science, and increasing community involvement through community tree planting days and events.
Our next upcoming events will be coming up in April/May.
As an event volunteer the commitment is sporadic with the need to only commit to the event opportunities that suit you.
We would love to build a team of passionate people who can help support the unique program of events we offer assisting in roles such as:
- Registering and Greeting attendees
- Providing program and event information to attendees
- Assisting with set up and pack down of the events
- Supporting attendees to correctly use the bins provide

Interested volunteers ideally will be:
- Passionate about caring for our environment
- Knowledgeable about Ipswich and it's natural areas or willing to learn (able to be supported with training)
- Happy to talk to people and able to communicate clearly with members of the public.
- Experienced in customer service, education, working with children or have a background in environmental studies (desirable but not essential)
Shift times: Will vary depending on the event opportunity and will be communicated with you ahead of the events before you commit to attending.
By applying to be an event volunteer you agree to receive emails promoting event volunteering opportunities as they arise throughout the year. You will not be automatically assigned shifts and instead will have the opportunity to select events and shifts you wish to participate in based on your availability and interest.
