Bushcare Volunteer - Lorikeet St Reserve, Bundamba
Regular working bees will be held the second Sunday of every month.
Lorikeet Street Reserve is one of Ipswich's newest Bushcare groups. Passionate community members began rehabilitating the reserve in February, 2023. They plan to meet monthly.
Working bees: Second Sunday of every month
Time: 8:00 – 10:00 am
Parking: There’s limited parking. Please walk, ride, or carpool if you can. Some suggestions of street parking are along Paice or Oak Street, Bundamba.
Meeting spot: The group will be meeting at the eastern end of the reserve, along Naomai Street, Bundamba (there’s no parking on this street). You can enter at the end of Paice street, or along Naomai street. Follow the path to the working bee location highlighted in yellow above.
The group will be doing careful work replacing weeds with native plants while managing the needs of the local flying fox colony.

How many volunteers are needed? Unlimited, bring your friends!
Pre-Requisites: For the initial volunteer shift you’ll be asked to sign a Unregistered Volunteer form before starting work. These are available on the day. Those wanting to join as a regular member will need to sign up as a regular volunteer, to do this you'll need to sign up on the Council Volunteer portal follow MyImpactPage - Application Form - Infrastructure and Environment (betterimpact.com) and complete all online induction training and sign the Volunteer Agreement form to be covered by insurance.
Please wear a hat, long pants and closed in shoes. Remember to bring drinking water and your own snacks. Sunscreen is available.
