Nature Centre - Visitor Experience
Location: Ipswich Nature Centre, Queens Park
This role will see volunteers be stationed at key locations in the Nature Centre engaging with visitors and answering general enquiries. Volunteers will also assist visitors in interacting appropriately with the animals in our interactive spaces such as the barn and free flight aviary, ensuring the safety of both animals and visitors in the interactive spaces of the centre.
Busy periods for this role will be on weekends and during school holidays. Ideally volunteer will make an ongoing commitment with weekly shifts. However, for the right candidates this could be offered as a holiday only volunteering opportunity.
Shift availability varies so please include your availability when applying.
Volunteer shifts occur 7 days a week and are done at the below times:
Mornings 9am: - 1pm
Afternoons 12:30pm - 4:30pm
Interested volunteers will have:
- Knowledge of animals and Ipswich local area or willingness to learn
- Customer service experience with a customer focused happy disposition
- Physically fit and able to be on their feet for the duration of the shift
- Ability to commit to shifts on school holidays, public holidays and/or weekends.
How many volunteers are needed? It will depend on how many shifts are available at the time of recruitment.
