EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (minimum age 18)

Emergency Department Volunteers are often the first point of contact for patients using the Emergency Departments.  Volunteers ensure patients are in the right locations for their needs and work alongside the Triage staff to ensure patients are seen as efficiently as possible.  Volunteers who work in the Emergency Department must have a calm demeanor and a proven ability to maintain composure in stressful situations. Volunteers are responsible to ensure that patients and their families are as comfortable as possible during their ED visit, and that the waiting room remains a safe environment for all.

Requirements:

•must be 18 years of age or older

•must be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months in the same shift

•must be comfortable working with people in a busy, hectic environment
