The Day Medicine Clinic provides care to patients who require treatment in an active setting but do not require overnight hospitalization (e.g., blood transfusions, I.V. therapy). The clinic also assists with the preparation and monitoring of patients who have diagnostic procedures done in other areas under procedural sedation.

- Assist in providing a safe environment
- Greeting patients/families upon entering the department
- Offering information services and directing and/or accompanying patients to specific diagnostic areas within the hospital and unit
- Serving as a liaison between patient/family and staff: take any patient questions to the RN
- Visiting and providing emotional support to patient/family
- Help patients complete forms/surveys and return them to RN/clerk
- Assist patients with clothing by storing and retrieving clothes before and after procedures
- Organize and restock supplies; warm blankets, kitchen supplies, IV buckets, bedside supplies
- Performing daily simple oxygen and suction safety checks with guidance from unit nursing staff
- Interact with individual patients: Get patient snacks (check with the nurse first), call for rides, get wheelchairs, or blankets.
- Various administrative tasks: filing, performing reminder phone calls, or folding brochures
