EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT (Minimum age 18)
Available volunteer shifts:
Mondays -Sundays (various 2hr shifts)
Great opportunity for those interested in learning how an ER runs "behind the scenes". It's not like it seems on TV! During your volunteer shift, you will mostly be doing chores: taking out laundry, folding laundry, stocking supplies, etc. Patient contact is limited.
Volunteering in this program can be quite overwhelming due to the ER being a very large area and minimal supervision.
Requirements:
- must be 18 years of age or older
- must be able to commit for a minimum of 6 months in the same shift
- must be comfortable working with a minimum of supervision in a sometimes hectic environment
- must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
