Volunteers are an integral part of the RSPCA Victoria team. They play an active and vital role in helping to support our work to improve the welfare of animals and protect them from cruelty and neglect.

  

Prevention includes three business units that work together to prevent cruelty to animals by changing the environment we live in and improving laws so they provide more protection for animals (Policy and Advocacy), improving individuals’ understanding of animal welfare (Education) and helping people to achieve good animal welfare (Community Outreach).

This role will assist the Prevention Team by developing education databases that will be used for emailing promotional and educational materials regarding RSPCA’s programs. 

  

The Prevention Administration Officer will provide assistance with the following activities:

   §  Developing databases of contacts for schools

§  Sourcing of contacts via websites

§  Emailing and making phone calls to schools

 

To successfully undertake this role, the volunteer will possess the following skills, attributes and/or experience:

Essential:

§  Good computer and internet skills including using databases Excel and Word

§  Strong attention to detail

§  Experience in cold calling

§  Ability to follow oral and written instructions

Desirable:

§  RSPCA Volunteer experience

 

National Police Check

Screen for animal cruelty offenses

Drivers Licence

Working with Children Check

Medical - proof of tetanus vaccination

A full RSPCA volunteer induction will be provided and all training modules on Better Impact will need to be completed.

Once inducted a member of the Prevention team will provide training and guidance.
