About us |
The Royal Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Victoria) is a non-government, community based charity that works to prevent cruelty to animals by actively promoting their care and protection. Volunteers are an integral part of the RSPCA team. They play an active and vital role in helping to support our work to improve the welfare of animals, and protect them from cruelty and neglect. Volunteering involves commitment, dedication and passion. |
Role Purpose |
As a not for profit organisation we are heavily reliant on the generosity of the public with donated goods helping to enrich the lives of the animals in our care. The Storeroom Assistant helps to sort these goods and distribute them amongst our Burwood East Shelter. The Storeroom Assistant ensures that all animals in our care have the opportunity to benefit from the thoughtfulness of the community. We are seeking reliable volunteers who are willing to commit to a regular shift. Please be aware that this role does not involve animal interaction but is integral in meeting our vision of ending cruelty to all animals. This role would be ideal for friends or family members who would like to volunteer together and make a real difference in ensuring the animals in our care are kept comfortable and snug. “Although I am one step removed from the animals, there is still a lot of satisfaction in my role. I can see the importance of this position because distributing soft, warm bedding for the animals is really, really important for their well-being” Shirley, Storeroom Volunteer |
