Lutheran Care

Blair Athol - Clothing Cutter, Distribution Centre

Clothing Cutter Volunteer

Rag cutting is an important part of our recycling and repurposing of old and used donations that come into our Retail Op Shops. Rags provide income to assist those we support in the community.

We have opportunities for volunteers to join our team at our Op Shop Distribution Centre in Blair Athol.

How you can help

In this role you will have the opportunity to learn rag cutting, sorting, packing and preparing orders for customers:

  • Cut nominated donations into rags as per distribution centre guidelines
  • Sort and pack rags into specific categories as per distribution centre guidelines
  • Weigh, bale or bag rags as per orders or for storage

We are looking a volunteer to assist for a minimum of one 4 hour shift per week. Shifts available Monday to Friday.

Volunteering with Lutheran Care is requires a Working with Children Check. WWCC’s are free for volunteers.

Our impact

Established to serve a dual purpose, our Op Shops exist to provide affordable clothing to those in need in our communities and they also provide a vital revenue stream to LC through the sale of quality recycled clothing, books, bric-a-brac and household goods.

By volunteering in our shops you have the opportunity to make new friends and have fun whilst you work, as well as playing a key role in our mission to build strong, caring communities.
