Resource Management Volunteers serve the park by maintaining the park’s many historical buildings and natural resources, including the native and historical gardens. Our volunteers focus on providing an additional means to help preserve the likeness of the original landscape and prevent the deterioration of the many historic buildings found in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. This layer of preservation can be achieved if our volunteers making a commitment to consistently upkeep the museum's features as well as manage the deteriorating factors throughout the park.

 

Resource Management Volunteer Opportunities Include:

 

Natural Resource Management

This opportunity is designed to support the needs of the park’s Maintenance Program by providing an additional means to help preserve the likeness of the original landscape of the park’s historical gardens. This will be accomplished by volunteers assisting with the ongoing removal of invasive species and regularly water the historical gardens at Old Town San Diego State Historic Park under the direction of the Curatorial and Maintenance Teams.

Park Resource Management  

This opportunity is designed to support the needs of the park’s Maintenance Program by serving as an additional means to help prevent the deterioration of the many historic buildings found in Old Town San Diego State Historic Park. This layer of preservation will be achieved by making a commitment to consistently clean the museum's features as well as manage the dust and debris throughout the surrounding areas.
