Interpretation and Education
Docents and interpretive volunteers are highly trained individuals who interpret the cultural, natural and recreational features of state parks for visitors. If you have a passion for sharing and enjoy speaking to the public, a docent position may be a good fit for you.
Interpretive activities that volunteers may be involved with include:
- Educational programs for school groups and tour groups at the Morro Bay Museum of Natural History and the Spooner Ranch House
- Guided walks and hikes in state parks and beaches (Adventures with Nature)
