Do you love history and meeting people from around the world? Monterey State Historic Park has several volunteer opportunities that will allow you to share your passion for history and interact with visitors from all walks of life. Opportunities include:

  • Storekeeper in the Custom House Museum Store. This nonprofit store raises funds for restoration projects and educational programs in the park.
  • Museum Greeter in the Custom House Museum. Welcome visitors into the oldest government building on the West Coast! You can share the unique history of the building and orient visitors to programming throughout the park.
  • School Program Docent. Lead historic activities for groups of fourth graders visiting the park on one of our hands-on field trips.
  • Seasonal Living History. Join us for Fourth of July or Christmas in the Adobes to wear period attire add to the atmosphere of our Living History events.
