Living History
Volunteers dress in period attire for Special Events, or when giving tours (after training). Living history portrayal is in 3rd person (dressed like historical people, but not acting as them). Costuming is provided by the park, or can be purchased/made by the volunteer with provided guidance on correct items.
Empire: The primary interpretive period for the Estate side of the park is 1906, with volunteers dressed as guests of the Bourns. The mine yard is more general to mining or work clothes of the mine's operational period from 1870's to 1940's.
Malakoff Diggins: The early 1880's were the height of the hydraulic mining operation and the town of North Bloomfield, with working-class townfolk and miners.
