Castro Adobe Class Field Trips
This is a great opportunity to share the Mexican Rancho Period of California History with 3rd and 4th graders visiting the Castro Adobe. A background in education is helpful but not necessary, only the joy of sharing knowledge with kids. You will be guiding activities such as adobe brick making, learning to use a compass while leading a hike around the rancho and making tortillas. After training, you will be able to share the history of the Castro family, vaquero culture, and day to day life on living on a cattle rancho during the 1800's.
