Little River State Beach

Little River State Beach features dunes and a broad open beach, with plenty of wildlife and scenic views. The beach is bordered on the north by Little River and on the south by Clam Beach County Park which provides camping and day use facilities. Little River is an important wintering beach for the Western Snowy Plover and is currently under a large scale habitat restoration program to bring the dunes back to their native state.

Volunteering

At Little River State Beach, volunteers tackle invasive European beach grass at their roots and restore the dunes to their natural state. With 20 acres of restored habitat that needs to be maintained, volunteers are essential to getting the work done. If you are interested in spending a day on the beach removing this stubborn invasive, please contact Michelle Forys at Michelle.Forys@parks.ca.gov
