Casa Gutierrez Gallery Attendant
Casa Gutierrez Gallery Attendants are key in interpreting and protecting our art gallery's collections. Casa Gutierrez, a historic 1842 adobe, is a uniquely renovated historic building home a variety of rotating art and historic exhibits. In the past Casa Gutierrez has been home to exhibits by California State Parks, California Costal Commission, Youth Art Collective, Plein Art Painters Association, and more!
Your role as a Gallery Attendant would be to work with staff inside of the building to interpret the exhibit on display and to maintain a close watch to ensure collections pieces are damaged. You should apply to be a Gallery Attendant if you are comfortable with public speaking, friendly and courteous, willing to work with State Parks staff, and comfortable being in a museum space.
Primary Duties:
- Orient Visitors to what Monterey SHP has to offer
- Be responsible for ensuring the protection of museum artifacts and art pieces
- Give out park brochures and information
- Interpret the history of Casa Gutierrez and its exhibits in an accurate and professional manner
- Become familiar with park features and cultural significance.
