Adopt-A-Plot Volunteer

Want to help restore coastal scrub and grasslands? The Adopt-A-Plot program is a perfect fit to get outside and restore our coastal parks to native vegetation!

The purpose of the Adopt-A-Plot Volunteer is to assist the restoration and conversion of non-native vegetation and recently fallowed/abandoned agricultural lands back to native coastal terrace species in Wilder Ranch State Park. This position aids Natural Resource Management (NRM) of the Santa Cruz District by maintaining restoration plantings throughout the year via weeding, watering, mulching, and planting, depending on the needs of the plot. This position may also interact with the public because restoration plots are located along the coastal bluff trails of Wilder Ranch State Park. Volunteers may provide information about the purpose of their work and the Adopt-A-Plot program.

We welcome both volunteer groups and individuals to Adopt-A-Plot. A commitment of 50-hours a year over a two-year period is needed to maximize the restoration efforts of Wilder Ranch and Coast Dairies State Parks' coastal bluffs.

Volunteers may receive recognition through newsletters, social media posts, and volunteer appreciation events!

Please indicate on your application that you are applying for the Adopt-A-Plot program.
