Adopt-A-Plot Volunteer

The purpose of the Agricultural Buffer and Coastal Terrace ‘Adopt-A-Plot' Volunteer is to assist the restoration and conversion of non-native vegetation and recently fallowed/abandoned agricultural lands back to native coastal terrace species in Wilder Ranch State Park. This position aids Natural Resource Management (NRM) of the Santa Cruz District by maintaining restoration plantings throughout the year via weeding, watering, mulching, and planting, depending on the needs of the plot. This position may also interact with the public because restoration plots are located along the coastal bluff trails of Wilder Ranch State Park. Volunteers may provide information about the purpose of their work and the ‘Adopt-A-Plot' program.

We welcome both volunteer groups and individuals to Adopt-A-Plot. A commitment of 50-hours a year over a two-year period is needed to maximize the restoration efforts of Wilder Ranch and Coast Dairies State Parks' coastal bluffs.

Volunteers may receive recognition through newsletters, social media posts, and volunteer appreciation events!
