Holllister Hills SVRA volunteer information

Hollister Hills SVRA offers two volunteer programs, Trail Watch and Trail Patrol.

Trail Watch volunteers ride and patrol trails to monitor trail conditions, and assist stranded visitors with bike pickups, and general visitor service needs.

Trail Patrol volunteers are volunteers selected from trail watch by ranger staff to assist rangers by augmenting patrols to provide an increased level of public services. Patrols will be made on self-provided motorcycles, ATVs, 4WD vehicles, or on foot. Trail Patrol Volunteers will assist rangers with vehicle accidents, fire detection, and searching for missing persons. No volunteers shall perform any law enforcement activities or provide medical aid to park visitors.

Applicants looking to volunteer at Hollister Hills should have interests in OHV recreation, be willing to work with visitor service and ranger staff, be observant of changing or hazardous trail conditions, be knowledgeable or willing to learn about OHV regulations and be passionate about visitor safety.

Other interests include search and rescue, interpretation, park maintenance, and park regulations.

Volunteers choose when to come in and we recommend coming in at least once a month.
