AV Indian Museum Tour Docent
Docents provide guided tours to school groups, youth groups, and adult groups. The museum has basic scripts for guided programs. Volunteers who want to become docents study the scripts and observe experienced docents give tours. Once volunteers feel comfortable, they start practicing tours with museum staff and experienced docents. When museum staff feel they are ready, and the volunteer feels ready, they start giving tours as part of a team with museum staff or another docent, to help them until they master the tour.
