Trail Maintenance
Purpose:
- To assist in trails work and general maintenance in the parks.
Training:
- California State Park Volunteer Orientation training.
- Individual project instruction and safety training from project leader.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conduct trail and park maintenance work under the direction of park staff or SCTC project director.
- Conduct trail and park maintenance work practicing safety guidelines.
- Follow established policies and guidelines for protecting the natural and cultural resources on all projects.
- Represent California State Parks in a friendly, professional manner
- Adhere to schedule and report hours of volunteer service through established procedure.
- Notify Volunteer Coordinator of any changes in availability, illness, etc.
- Comply with all Volunteer registration paperwork requirements.

Essential Functions:
- Hiking/walking on uneven ground for extended or prolonged periods of time, working outdoors in a wide range of environmental conditions, bending, stooping, squatting, dragging, gripping, pushing/pulling, climbing, carrying, lifting, digging, raking, sweeping, listening, reading, comprehending.
