North Coast Redwoods District Volunteering
Welcome to the North Coast Redwoods Natural Resource Volunteer Portal!
Whether it’s native plant management, invasive non-native ivy removal, monitoring, or trail cleanups, natural resource volunteers support the health of our State Parks and gain valuable professional experience in doing so. If you are looking for a quick volunteer opportunity, we offer that! Our short-term events are drop-in habitat restoration volunteer work days primarily focused on invasive species removal. These events are a great way to connect with Park staff, learn about native flora and fauna, become educated on natural resource management techniques and tools, and meet new community members. We partner with schools of all ages, scout groups, religious groups, and many more!
You can become a long-term volunteer!
Long term volunteer work offers job shadowing and involved training for those interested in a more immersive experience. For example, long term volunteers can be trained on GPS/GIS applications, assist with vegetation surveys, and work on individual projects that match your schedule. For more information on how to become a long-term volunteer, you can contact Environmental Scientist Michelle Forys: (707) 677-3109 or michelle.forys@parks.ca.gov
There are multiple locations within our district where volunteer events and long-term volunteering is important to our success. Click on a location of your interest to see more information and upcoming volunteer events!
