Asilomar Historical Building Host

Asilomar Building Hosts represent Asilomar State Beach and Conference Grounds (ASBCG) in the Phoebe Apperson Hearst Social Hall or at a table on the grounds, near the dunes, or on the beach, by greeting visitors, telling stories about local and Asilomar history and natural history, and answer questions in a casual, on-demand setting.

During our annual Women's History Celebration in March, Building Hosts represent ASBCG at the Julia-Morgan-designed buildings on the grounds (a National Historic Landmark) by welcoming visitors and interpreting the history of these historic buildings.

Docents receive initial and continuing enrichment training to which they add their own unique approach and experiences. If you have a passion for sharing and enjoy speaking to the public, a docent position may be a good fit for you.
