Interpretation for Visitors

We provide ample training for our docents so that they can confidently and accurately interpret the natural resources of our park.

Docents receive initial and continuing enrichment training to which they add their own unique approach and experiences. If you have a passion for sharing and enjoy speaking to the public, a docent position may be a good fit for you.

Interpretive activities that docents become involved with include:

  • Educational Programs for School Groups and other visitors
  • Museum Tours, Nature Hikes, Tidepool Walk, Butterfly Talks, festival tables

We have flexible schedules that work for your availability, whether you are looking for occasional shifts  or a more consistent schedule.  Some of our docents choose to specialize in one aspect of the park such as the Monarch Butterflies or the Tidepools while others prefer to vary their programs and learn about multiple aspects of the park.
