Tomo Kahni Tour Guide
Leading tours of the reserve when scheduled, or requested if available. Tours may be for the general public or specific groups such as school classes or senior groups.
The volunteer must exhibit good communication skills; respect for cultural diversity; willingness to learn and provide accurate information; ability to follow instructions; openness to constructive criticism; punctuality; reliability; and ability to work cooperatively and courteously with the public, other volunteers, and park staff. The volunteer may drive their personal vehicle from the tour orientation site at the Tehachapi Museum to the park unit (including areas of rough road), and/or for interpretive program-supporting tasks.
For those who choose to conduct tours: standing and walking three miles on a variety of ground surfaces in variable weather conditions is necessary.
