Visitor Center
Purpose:
- To provide information to park visitors and interpret the natural and cultural history of
Annadel State Park.
Training:
- California State Park Volunteer Orientation training.
- Shadow current Docents.
- On-going Docent enrichment opportunities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Requires a criminal background check.
- Research and develop knowledge of park operations, history, interpretation techniques.
- Provide information to visitors and represent California State Parks in friendly, professional manner.
- Open and close the visitor center.
- Run cash register and sell visitor center merchandise.
- Maintain merchandise presentation and perform housekeeping duties.
- Comply with standards of dress and grooming for Volunteers.
- Maintain records on visitor attendance and daily transactions.
- Adhere to schedule and report hours of volunteer service through established procedure.
- Notify scheduler and Volunteer coordinator of any changes in availability, illness, etc.
- Comply with all Volunteer registration paperwork requirements.
