Visitor Center

Purpose:

  • To provide information to park visitors and interpret the natural and cultural history of

Annadel State Park.

Training:

  • California State Park Volunteer Orientation training.
  • Shadow current Docents.
  • On-going Docent enrichment opportunities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Requires a criminal background check.
  • Research and develop knowledge of park operations, history, interpretation techniques.
  • Provide information to visitors and represent California State Parks in friendly, professional manner.
  • Open and close the visitor center.
  • Run cash register and sell visitor center merchandise.
  • Maintain merchandise presentation and perform housekeeping duties.
  • Comply with standards of dress and grooming for Volunteers.
  • Maintain records on visitor attendance and daily transactions.
  • Adhere to schedule and report hours of volunteer service through established procedure.
  • Notify scheduler and Volunteer coordinator of any changes in availability, illness, etc.
  • Comply with all Volunteer registration paperwork requirements.

Essential Functions:

  • Reading, listening, comprehending, speaking, sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, sweeping, cash  handling.
